LLW Launching Album In Bandung

A good news for Indonesian music, especially Jazz. A musician and legend in Indonesia jazz history, Indra Lesmana is back. After 35 years in music industry he has came back with a new band with new spirit, youth style of music and younger musicians. It is LLW (read: double L W-red)
LLW consists of three well-known jazz musicians in Indonesia, Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa and Sandy Winarta. LLW name came from their first letter in the last name. Indra Lesmana plays keyboard, piano and fianika, Barry Likumahuwa plays bass and Sandy Winarta is the drummer. They met while performing jump session in Indra’s studio in Kemang, Jakarta. After frequent jump, they decided to form LLW.
LLW released their first album ‘Love Life Wisdom’ on April 24, 2011 on iTunes, Amazon and Reverbnation. This album had reached chart #18 on iTunes worldwide download in jazz genre, a great achievement for Indonesia music. There are 7 tracks, one with different arrangement and two collaboration songs. They collaborated with Dira J Sugandi in one song, a singer from Bandung who has join Incognito. LLW also collaborated with Kyriz Boogiemen, DJ Cream and a vocal director and music lecturer, Indra Aziz in another song collaboration. EQ Puraredja rolled as Co-Producer from this album.
After launched the first record in Jakarta July 10, 2011. Indra felt the chemistry to Bandung make him want to do record launching also in here. (Please check short interview with Indra Lesmana about his story with Bandung). Thereforeon July 26 2011, LLW launch the album at the Ballroom of Bumi Sangkuriang Jl. Kiputih No. 12 Cimbuleuit, Bandung. The event is one of Jazz Break, a monthly jazz event held on Bumi Sangkuriang by Bumi Sangkuriang Jazz Community.
There are two agendas in the launching event : press conference and mini concert. Press Confrence starts about 20 minutes before the main event began, attended by Indra Lesmana, Barry Likumahuwa, Sandy Winarta and artist collaborations, Kyriz Boogiemen. They told a lot about how the production of LLW and material in ‘Love Life Wisdom’. LLW came from the spontaneous music they played during a jump session, according to Indra.
After the press conference, they start the concert, only by LLW and Kyriz Boogiemen. They started with ‘Morning Spirit’, which according to Indra, tells about the spirit they have in the morning after thejump session. Their second song was ‘Friday Call’, tells about Muslim men’s obligation on Friday. This fifth track in the album amazed the audiences.
As the atmosphere warms up. Skip a song, then they played ‘Moon Over Asia’, by Indra Lesmana, who had performed this song with Java Jazz Band. Barry Likumahuwa told, Back in elementary school, he used to sing the song. “Now here I’m onstage with the author.” Next they played the first track in the album, ‘Back Into sumthin‘. After that Kyriz Boogiemen rapped in ‘Stretch n Pause’. “The song mentions some of the world’s jazz legends, though not all but most have been represented”, said Indra. Still with Kyris, they close the performance with ‘Reborn’. Warm stage and full skill with touch of youth.
After the show they did a little meet and greet with fans outside the ballroom. It was a pleasure to enjoy a quality session by quality musicians. You can feel the same by listening to their record. Good luck LLW.

Mmm..Great effort guys, got the spirit !
I think, you should find a better editor in chief and i do believe you should hear more carefully what the performer said.
Journalism is all about telling the “truth” in your way. How can you tell someone about your opinion but you don’t understand the subject!.
