Jazzylicious : Harmony in Fusion with Kevin

Enjoyment of a musical is not like our food in a day, no matter how big the enjoyment of food is not going to like the music. Food is so feel pleasure but it’s only temporary. Music will always be sound in our ears especially if we are witnessing a live performance. There are two sensing devices that work are the eyes and ears, a wise man often said, “unforgettable memory are when seen by the eye”. So come to a event live music in Jazzylicious indeed a pleasure in itself. Moreover, you feel it in a city that is so beautiful; Bandung.

Bandung really beautiful. Especially if you visit Jazzylicious. This is a part of the overall enjoyment and beauty of bandung. Would be a mistake not to feel the beauty of it. Because in a sunny afternoon early evening we were treated to an extraordinary pleasure. Coupled with live music from musicians who have experience in the music which they live. Yes, all that is what is called the beauty of a live music with a pleasant atmosphere.

Jazzylicous is an event organized by Rockie Productions an event organizer that most of them teenangers. Although they are young but Rockie Productions shows an event with different concepts and we do not get at other events. They always done a great event in Bandung. Although still young but they’re trying to provide something wonderful for the flowers city. Jazzylicious will become an annual event of the Rockie Productions and they will attempt to provide a better every year. Various methods are used to see what is desired by the visitor that they have. That is a good thing for an event because of what they want visitors will greatly affect the success of the event. Production Rockie trying to fix what became a shortage of the year for the next year. Same with a charger that will artists they present, the demand from many of their visitors will also very determine.

This is Jazzylicous part two, after their success with Jazzylicious last year located in Sierra. At the time Jazzylicous they took tagline “Jazzylicious feat Maliq n d’esentyal, evening and andez“. When they bring Maliq n D’Essentials, a band jazz genre in high demand by Indonesian youth with special songs of romance that they have. With the opening Palm From Moodytunes, Sikuai, Chalk and Cheese. The event last year was not very big but very lively, because jazz over dinner target to show really achieved. Rockie Productions came again this time to do it again for us guys. Surely they enter into observation of what is want their visitors last year, before choosing the artists who will present them in their events. Perhaps one of the artists who were present for this event is filling of your choice. Or if you’ve never heard Jazzylicous earlier, one that no time is your idol artist. This is a good beginning and techniques in organizing an event. Because the visitor is king in a event.

For the year 2010 Rockie Productions give taglines their events Jazzylicious – Harmony in Fusion With Kevin. This is clearly very different from the previous year, if last year they were the based on Andez as d’jazz the merging of jazz with DJ music. Now they show “Harmony in Fusion with Kevin” This means they want to show a sense of comfort in one type of jazz fusion with Kevin. Kevin is mean Rockie Productions in this event is Kanisius Kevin Suherman, teenangers from Bandung is still 16 years old but already has many achievement. Kevin Suherman is viano player classic, rarely you can get teenanger 16 years but was a pianist who had known in the world and had many achievement.

Kanisius Kevin Suherman old 16 year now, but he has been officially hired as an artist products piano Schimmel, a company producent piano in germany. Kevin contracted Scimhel in January 2010 because of his achievement which has been thorough in world. As an artist one of the best producent piano in Germany, Kevin also has the right to use the piano Schimmel production, can also get a recording and concert tours by Schimmel. Kevin Suherman achievement as a classical piano player can not doubt, it has received recognition from Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI). When in the year 2005 Kevin Suherman play 50 songs without stopping and did not use sheet music. Since then, Kevin continues to carve out a better performance, since the year 2008 up to kevin to get a scholarship to Melbourne Grammar School to studying piano.

Of the many achievements that have been achieved had it not wrong if Jazzylicous chose him to be one of guest star in the show this year. But as a classic pianist, then Kevin Suherman collaborated with other musicians to produce a harmony in the form of jazz fusion. Combinations such as this is what we call different from the usual event. A collaboration Kevin Suherman With Tompi and Friends, Barry Likamuhuwa Projects, Soulvibe, Mocca, and 4peniti. Not forgetting the youth talents who owned bandung with quality that is not much different from Grace Sahertian and Friends and Sikuai. Yes it was the one who want to be called Harmony, a combination between Jazz, Klassik and Pop.

That night, sunday June 20th 2010 at Sasana Budaya Ganesha(SABUGA) ITB, Bandung, many teenangers bandung, who lovers jazz come to “Jazzylicious – Harmony in Fusion with Kevin“. That is what is desired in accordance with Rockie Productions, because they are through Jazzylcious do want to prove that jazz can live in the middle Bandung teenangers. In addition, they also absorb various developments and changes in the music world. We found a lot of sexy women here, like Jazz.

Grace Sahertian and Friends is the stage marks start of Jazzylicious – Harmony in Fusion With Kevin. Grace Sahertian is the main actor in this group, and he brought his friends. They are a band that always used to gather in klabjazz bandung and perform onstage at the Sunday jazz. Grace Shertian always take refuge under a cold vowel sounds, we also get a Tesla Manaf Effendi (guitar), Sindhu Bayusekti (bass), Edward Manurung (drums) and Chris Stanley (keyboards). This is a young talent who owned bandung and is one part of the beauty bandung. Grace Sahertian and Friends are always bringing the work of Pat Metheny Group and it is one thing more than Grace Sahertian brought with language that is not unusual to hear. But that’s where their advantage Grace Sahertian and Friends from other group.

Grace Sahertian and Friends start peformances with “Are You Going With Me” start with the playing keyboard that produces sound buzzing, the soft sound that seemed to want to sleep. Sometimes there is a sense of sadness when listening tucked well. The second song is “Betters Days Ahead” in this song is the melody played tesla, Skilllfull. followed by “And Than I Knew” seemed to want to listen to this song rocked so twisted and the third song ends with the audience clapping along to set the tempo. “Always and Forever” is the next song beginning of the tesla melody playing, but sounds like a keyboard. They played with a relaxed but penetrating the heart, grace the strains maintain the song. Followed by “See The World” and the swaying grace in this song. To end peformances of Grace Sahertian and Friends, Tulus from “Sikuai”  bring help to song of “Semusim” accompanied by two keyboadist from Sikuai.

After MC, followed by Sikuai. Sikuai is the name of an island in the West sumatera. But this is not the island, this is a band jazz from bandung consisting of Tulus (vocal), Ridwan (guitar), Age (bass), Emma (keyboards), Gembong (keyboard) and Dennis (drums). In jazzylicous peformance Sikuai opened with the song “Mercy” this song is really metal jazz. Continued with “Kangen” song from Dewa 19, everyone knows this song, but Sikuai bring a slightly different size, Tulus slow tempo. Everyone was singing along, especially those who are alone with partner. The third song is “Tersenyumlah” This is an original song from Sikuai, this song is really showing a typical Sikuai real. Slowly, but very much dominated by the vocals of Tulus. Followed by “Menyesal” was made with a fast tempo, but the word actually used the word sad. The fifth song is “Wait in Vain” when just title has been cheering audience. “Bila Tinggalkanku” is a song to stop peformances by Sikuai.

This is time to have guest star at beginning of show, but this is still the opening of Kevin Suherman before continuing to the collaboration with other artist. The first song was made very quickly with the composition between play bass and melody at viano. He’s so fast and wild, there was songs  a scary atmosphere. The second song is “Es Lilin” a song from West Java, it sounded so etnich. Next Ammy Kurniawan from 4peniti taking the stage with a violin. Viano classical combined with violin  is perfect, very eklusive for classik music lovers. Next kevin playing like a rock song with a solo viano. Tulus “Sikuai” return to the stage sing song “Untukmu” by Chrisye (alm). When Sincere started to mention the title song, all SABUGA rumble, everyone really has to know this song, and all sing along.

Next is peformances four men with their format of acoustic instruments. They are Zaky (vocals-guitar), Ammy Kurniawan (violin, mandolin), Ari “aru” Reinaldi (drums), Rudy “ARU” Zulkarnaen (contra-bass), they are 4peniti. They stood since 2002 because of a common vision in play ,usic. In Jazzylicious they do something different from the others. 4Peniti not have a list of songs they play will be shown only on feeling. 4peniti also presents other their song “Dibawah Bulan Purnama” we think this song ends with etnich Sundanese music. “High and Dry” was another of their songs that night.

4Peniti no check sound, but they do so while singing. That is where the difference 4peniti with others. The second song titled “Menari Bumi” is truly a hallmark bandung music ballads, really a pattern of young children. Listen to and watch 4peniti like hear song of singers legendary ballad  Indonesia “Iwan Fals” but with a different formad, 4peniti more toward playing jazz ballads with use violin. This stage is very interesting, Zaki was always doing funny actions. The audience laughed often. It is an entertainment. 4peniti also perform two songs in collaboration with Kevin Suherman. Ballads and classic, it new jazzylicious ! Stage of 4peniti closed by the song “Mau untung jadi Buntung” a song that contains a very high value, said sarcastically that there are many in this song. We are very pleased to be able to enjoy performances are very entertain with humor but never forgot the skill in playing musical instruments.

Now is enjoying the music from Mocca, we call music Mocca is dance. Because it is listening to what they do like to make sense to do dance. Mocca is the indie band of our city. But their careers did not seem like an indie band ever. Mocca are Arina Ephipania Simangunsong (vocals and flute), Rico Prayitno (guitar), Ahmad Pratama (bass) and Indra Massad (drums). Mocca has been much loved and admired in Bandung, them is one band that indicates of Bandung City. Because consistency in maintaining good music, then they never left by audience, Mocca is one band that awaited by Jazzylicious.

Mocca come to Jazzylcious with Imelda Rosalin, a musician who can play several types of musical instruments. But Imelda Rosalin known as keyboar or piano players. Jazz Bandung there who do not know Imelda Rosalin. Tonight Mocca’s own doing a few songs that have been known as the “My only One“, “I remember” “The best thing for anyone.” We really want to dance when they’re doing onstage. Especially when the song “I remember” and “Lets Me Go“, Mocca do with Kevin Suherman, with a little scolding from typical viano kevin.

Barry Likumahuwa Project (BLP), this stage is very energetic with a combined sound of the bass and alto sax. BLP are Barry Likamuhuwa (bass), Doni Joesran (keys), Henry Budidharma (guitars), Dennis Junio (alto sax), Jonas Wang (drums), Matthew (vocals / voices). They played with a swing and are masters at this SABUGA. Everyone’s happy so they will go on stage. They often perform the skill of every personnel. Barry was wild. They perform some of his own distinctive style that highlight the sound of the bass as a referral instruments, like the song “Wonder Wall”. In the song “A song taken from snow” Kevin Suherman they returned to the stage. Kevin did two songs with Barry Likumahuwa Project. The most festive event is when the song “Aku and Hadirmu” turns more than half of the visitors who attended with this song memorized. Skillful.

Soulvibe is the next time. Soulvibe is a band from Jakarta with the concept Oragnic flow of Soul vocal duo. They are Bayu Adi (Vocal) Rizqi Ranadireksa (Vocal), Ramadan Handyanto Jiwatama (bass), Mohamad Caesar Rizal (drums), Adrianto Ario Seto (synth), Satya Adhika Winasis (Guitar), and Frans Martatko Filman (Keys). This is really youth band, because peformances music is really crispy and delicious. They play with formad style a teenangers. They played a few songs for us, Dances. Your Smile is the opening song from them, followed by “Untuk Sementara“. It is time we get Kevin Suherman return them to song of “Dan Bila“. Still the ad a few songs to make the audience participate singing, it seems they do not want to let Soulvibe leave this stage. The song is also the title of the album “Antartika” is the cover of their stage in Jazzylicious.

Now is the culmination of all this. Tompi doing a wonderful ending for Jazzylicious. Doctors from Aceh really amazing, in the event apaun he always awaited. It’s after midnight, but the visitors still do not want to leave Jazzylicious for a Tompi. There’s nothing wrong Tompi awaited by the audience, because he can give what the audience wants the same as Rockie Production. Peformances Tompi this evening starting with “Belahan Jiwa” was indeed a very audible sound of jazz drums. Followed by “Kau tidak pernah setengah hati“, if you in the here, you will feel like to leave this place and see people you love. Tompi really have a way of singing is great, he is not just a singer, but also musicians.

Tompi told the audience asked what song you want and they want to Always. Viewers are asked to wave his hand. This is the highly anticipated, two musicians from different generations but have much experience on a stage. Tompi with Kevin Suherman, this will be something that can not be forgotten by the audience who were present Jazzylcious, could even carry a dream. This is not just a musical performance but is pleasure. Tompi close this stage with the song “Menghujam Jantungku” but this song does not go away. He was improvisasing on the song so very funny, changed into the form at the end of dangdut songs. While continuing to sing the song with the sound of dangdut, Tompi introduce friends who come to help him that night. We’re not going to comment again, because this is very funny and enjoyable.

Tompi has suspended his stage tonight in Jazzylicious. Visitors began leave SABUGA with a variety of flavors. because it Jazzylicious presents various types of music with a jazz flavor. This is just the second year for the Rockie Productions was very nice, we are waiting for something more nexth year.
